DBuddaZ had one of the best two-year runs in league history over the first couple of seasons of “The League.” After a shaky start to its 2011-12 season, DBuddaZ went unbeaten in its last eight weekly matchups to steal first-place from Heat Check All-Stars, which had held the standing for much of the season. With the No. 1 seed in hand, DBuddaZ cruised through the playoffs, winning “The League’s” inaugural championship. In 2012-13, DBuddaZ was a top-four team all season, briefly taking first-place from Lopez Towers before falling to BKNets914 the following week. But it battled numerous injuries down the stretch, ailments that proved too much as it fell in the semifinals to eventual champion Swooping and Hooping.
The 2013-14 season was really the first time we saw DBuddaZ struggle. It was below .500 for most of the season before winning its final five weekly matchups to clinch a playoff berth in the final week of the regular season. Despite becoming one of only two teams to qualify for the playoffs in each of “The League’s” first three seasons, DBuddaZ didn’t have enough to advance and lost to Comolli in the quarterfinals. It got back to the postseason once again the next two seasons, but its playoff struggles continued with two more one-and-done trips. Its postseason failures set a league-record with four straight playoff losses since it won the title way back in the first season of "The League."
Even though each season from 2015-2021 ended in the semifinals — it failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time during the coronavirus-shortened 2019-20 season — it finally exercised its postseason demons with a quarterfinal victory over rival BKNets914 in 2017. While finishing anything short of a championship can’t really be deemed a successful season, DBuddaZ can now move forward with confidence knowing it’s capable of winning in the playoffs.
It exercised some more postseason demons three seasons ago, winning its first semifinal game — it lost six straight from 2012-2021 — since its first title season following the franchise's second regular-season championship. It then defeated Comolli in the finals to capture the franchise's second championship. It was just the third team to win regular-season and championship titles in the same season and it's now one of just four franchises with multiple championships.
