Welcome to the official website for "Dynasty"

Commissioner: Joe Kilduff

The Fantasy Hut is opening its doors to another league David Kiarsis is a member of, a dynasty football league that began in 2021 and is run by long-time friend Joe Kilduff. The Fantasy Hut reached out to the commish for an introduction to the league and some background on its members...

After several years of intending to start a dynasty league I finally took the time to recruit enough guys to participate in 2021. I was always curious about the different strategies you would see and the different trades you could make, knowing that we kept most of our players year to year. I did quite a bit of research on the best practices and rules for a dynasty league and came up with a 12-team, super-flex, non-PPR league (I’ve never been a fan of PPR). I wanted a league that was competitive and had active owners. The interesting thing about the group I was able to assemble is that it is truly a national league. We have members from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, and California.

First, a little about me...

Joe (CT), aka Make Fantasy Great Again: The Commish, New York Giants and Mets fan, Mayor of my town, and sports junkie. I feel like I consistently get unlucky playing fantasy, but I am probably just not good. My 2021 title in my other fantasy football league is my pride and joy. I love trading, it's a weakness. Married with two kids but still try to sneak in some video games on occasion.

And now some quick blurbs about our members:

Adam (LA), aka Love Train: Childhood friend who used to own our high school halls, and we have too many memories to count (and some I won’t share). He lived in Hawaii and Italy during his time in the Navy and is now a Physician's Assistant in Louisiana, which is ironically where my in-laws live. We are in another re-draft league together with his military friends, and he is known as the luckiest fantasy player ever winning several titles and making several finals appearances despite not putting forth near the level of effort some of us do. I went on a three-year stretch where I lost to him every time we played, including three times in one season, but that streak finally came to an end in 2021.

Austin (MA), aka Jawas: Met him through my wife as they were good friends for years. He's a police officer, veteran, family man, all-around great dude, and I'm honored to call him a friend and happy to have him in our league.

Blaine (LA), aka Allen the Family: My brother in-law. He loves his family, the Patriots, and teasing his older sisters (including my wife) when they deserve it (which is often). Surprised us all when he took Josh Allen in our first draft over Patrick Mahomes, which didn’t look all that crazy after 2021. After 2022, well let’s just see what 2023 brings. Travels the country working for the railroad.

David (PA), aka Philadelphia Wiz & Wits: Met him working at ESPN. In the ESPN flag football league he was our WR1 while I was the WR2, sort of like Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins but better. Played against Dave for years in college football and basketball fantasy leagues, but this is our first NFL league together. Probably the best overall fantasy player I know.

Justin (MA), aka straight ca$h homie: Childhood friend of my wife, and I was honored he initiated me in into “the crew” when I got married. Recently moved to Boston from Chicago and he's in the sports data business. He never worked at ESPN, but he does know multiple people that those of us who worked at ESPN do. My wife says: “He know so much about sports.”

Kevin (CA), aka California Wildfire: Has the distinction of being the only member of the league I’ve never met so I can’t 100% verify he is real. He is allegedly Dave’s brother, so it's been interesting to see the brotherly rivalry unfold. I am told he only plays fantasy football so the his fantasy world revolves around these four months.

Mike (CT), aka Fields of Mayhem: We met at ESPN, he's a fellow WWE and New York Giants fan and an excellent Insurance Agent. He once dressed up as Road Warrior Hawk (I believe there is a picture somewhere).

Ray (MI), aka Football is Life: His wife worked with my wife in Michigan and we wished they lived closer because they are a great couple. We used to go on a 50+-mile canoe trip every year (hope we do that again). We spent a week with them in Europe with stops in Rome, Venice, Munich, and Amsterdam. He's a huge Michigan State (alum) and Lions fan. He got his now wife to go out with him by setting up a “fake date” with someone else. Yes, it worked, she got jealous.

Rich (NY), aka Acknowledge Me: I met him through a mutual friend and glad we have become friends on our own. He drove from Long Island to Connecticut to be my partner in a corn hole tournament last minute when my dad couldn’t play. That tells you all you need to know about him. Makes a living partying (only partially kidding).

Tanner (CT), aka It Ertz so good: I met him in a recreation softball league and when I say our team was terrible, I mean it. But we became fast friends and so did our wives. Turns out they were friends with an ex of mine, small world. Dedicated father and husband, Colts fan, and he gets to play with cool machines all day.

Travis (MA), aka Ubermensch: Childhood friend of my wife (apparently my wife had more friends than I did). Small business owner, high school basketball star, good poker player, and a great friend, husband, and father (to four kids). Always willing to give investing advice. We try to get together with him and his wife every month or so, and for sure our closest friends.

Championship game recap

(1) The Ubermensch 149.86, (3) Fields of Mayhem 123.36

  • The Ubermensch got a season-high 32.28 points from Brock Purdy and 19.50 points from Jameson Williams on Monday night to help it rally and win the franchise's first championship. This was the third straight year "Dynasty's" regular-season champion won the title in the same season and we've now had four different teams win championships. It was a valiant effort from Fields of Mayhem, which scored the most points in a title game loss and its 457.62 points this postseason are the most by a team in a single postseason.

Third-place game recap

(2) Philadelphia Wiz & Wits 146.02, (5) Allen the Family 85.56

  • Philadelphia Wiz & Wits got double-digits from seven of 10 starters, including a matchup-high 29.42 points from Lamar Jackson, to win its first-ever appearance in "Dynasty's" third-place game. It's one of three franchises with multiple top-three finishes in the first four seasons of "Dynasty."
