By taking over the franchise formerly known as BallSoHardU, Greg Polovin becomes the second new member of “The League” with no prior experience since 2016. Polovin hasn’t played much fantasy basketball in the past, but he’s a big NBA fan. He’s a Toronto Raptors fan, so maybe he’ll have some leftover good fortune from the Raptors’ championship run carry over into his time in “The League.” Polovin joins “The League” at the perfect time, aligning his takeover of one of its coveted 10 spots with the keeper reset giving the new guy full control of the direction his franchise takes.

It appears the franchise is heading in the right direction, with Polovin parlaying his spot in "The League" into a playoff berth in his first six seasons. The Drakes hovered around the top of the standings for the majority of its debut season, enjoying two five-weekly-matchup winning streaks while finishing the coronavirus-shortened season in second place. It got its first taste of playoff fantasy basketball five seasons ago, winning a quarterfinal game and finishing in fourth place following a semifinal loss to regular-season champion Black Kemba. It earned its first first-round bye four seasons ago, but fell in the semifinals once again.

It finally broke through in the semifinals two seasons ago, however, winning its first playoff game in the second round and advancing to the finals. It became the fifth team in league history to go from quarterfinalist to champion, capping off its 2023 season with the franchise's first title. It then became the second team in league history to win back-to-back titles, going from quarterfinalist to champion once again in 2024.
